La Crosse Congressman: Get Your Fit On
Ever the fitness advocate, La Crosse's congressman is back at it again in Washington. Democrat Ron Kind is among the lawmakers in D-C introducing legislation to pump up the fitness levels of all Americans through some financial incentives. One would allow some kind of tax benefit for employee memberships in fitness clubs. Another would allow employees pre-tax bennies to help cover the costs of preventative fitness programs. Most recently Kind was behind legislation to encourage schools to provide more physical education. That legislation is still pending.
