Feingold, Kind are working hard for us
I would like to thank Sen. Russ Feingold and Rep. Ron Kind for their recognition of the hardships of local communities. Both, along with majorities in the House and Senate, enacted legislation to preserve quality education for our students and police and firefighters for our protection. This legislation allows municipalities and school districts to use their scarce resources wisely, …
For Many, Health Care Relief Begins Today
On Thursday, the six-month anniversary of the signing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a number of its most central consumer protections take effect, just in time for the midterm elections. Starting now, insurance companies will no longer be permitted to exclude children because of pre-existing health conditions, which the White House said could enable 72,000 uninsured to …
Kind Earns Return Trip to Congress
Our Congressional District, for very good reasons, has elected Ron Kind seven times, giving him more than 60 percent of our votes in 2006 and 2008. Western Wisconsin voters are realists, and will choose to re-elect Ron Kind based on his record, rather than to vote for an opponent making unrealistic promises.
Kind Asks the Right Questions
Kind has a depth of knowledge of all the issues. Public transit reduces traffic, to directly or indirectly benefit everyone. Schools create high paid skilled jobs. Conservation protects the fisheries and keeps steady tourism jobs in Wisconsin. Family farms produce good food. Support for seniors is of great value to everyone. I vote for Ron Kind because he listens and questions.
Enough is enough, Sen. Kapanke
As a former western Wisconsin prosecutor, I know that no one is above the law. Everyone must follow the same rules. That is what I stand up and work for every day. Sen. Kapanke needs to take personal responsibility for his actions and stop trying to shift the blame to others. Everyone must be held to the same legal and ethical standards in our society.
Microbusiness Investment Credit Could Help WI Rural Communities
In these tough times, it's not easy for a beginning farmer or a small rural business to get a loan from a bank to expand operations. One solution is being proposed in a bill introduced by LaCrosse U.S. Congressman Ron Kind. It would give a tax incentive to rural microbusinesses in economically distressed rural areas.
